Lockton Celebrates 10 Years Riding for Cancer Research

On 4–5 October, Team Lockton once again joined hundreds of passionate riders for the MACA Cancer 200- Ride for the Perkins, marking our 10th consecutive year supporting the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

The MACA Cancer 200 - Ride for the Perkins is a two-day, 200-kilometre round-trip cycling challenge from Perth to Mandurah and back. Every participant rides with purpose, fundraising to support life-saving cancer research.

We're incredibly proud to share that Team Lockton raised $86,998 this year, bringing our total contribution over the past decade to just under $600,000. We also maintained our position among the Top 20 Corporate Team donations, a testament to the dedication of our riders, supporters, and sponsors.

This year, our riders braved wet and windy conditions on the 100-kilometre journey to Mandurah on Saturday, but spirits remained high as we rode together for a cause close to all our hearts. Day 2 was much kinder, with clear skies and a 25km tailwind helping the remaining 10 riders cover the 100 kilometres back from Mandurah, into Optus Stadium to finish.

As Australia's largest charity bike ride, the MACA Cancer 200 has now raised over $74 million for the Harry Perkins Institute, with a single united goal: to make cancer non-lethal. Team Captain Nikki Oliver expressed: "Unfortunately, this cruel disease has impacted all of us at some point in our lives or will. We continue to wholeheartedly support the event not only as a business, but as a group of individuals who have been affected by cancer and want to make a difference personally."
